Why Are You Filing Chemical Hair Relaxers Lawsuits?

When chemical hair relaxer or hair straighteners are applied to hair, they target and break disulfide bonds, which allows the hair to be straightened. This process usually lasts until the hair grows out.
However, chemical hair straighteners contain a variety of chemicals, including sodium hydroxide, ammonium thioglycolate, formaldehyde, phthalates, benzophenone-3, and triclosan, among others. Exposure to these chemicals can potentially lead to health issues, including cancer.

Several cosmetic brands are facing lawsuits over the use of toxic chemicals in their chemical hair relaxer products. Brands named in these lawsuits include L’Oreal, Soft & Beautiful, and Dark and Lovely.
According to the lawsuits, these brands are accused of knowingly selling dangerous and defective products that contain endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) even though they knew or should have known about the risks.
